  This outdoor art installation called Conversation Piece is by Spanish sculptor Juan Muñoz and has been here since1999. There were originally 22 bronze figures.
  
  They certainly get people into conversation, being a strange amalgam starting with what looks like a big bag of sand that finishes at head height in a human form, and not very pleasant ones at that. There not to everyone's taste - more at home on a Doctor Who set, but that's just my opinion, see them for yourself next time you visit South Shields.
